Dear Ava
A couple days ago you asked me an question about the Waka and I Answered the question. So it's my turn to ask a question, How would you feel if you had to voyage to New Zealand on an Waka?
I would be terrified the whole way there. I would also be looking at the water the whole time just encase an shark was there. When I got to New Zealand I would sigh in relief.

ReplyDeleteKia Ora Isla,
ReplyDeleteWell done on attempting your letter format, and for getting the ball rolling for the Summer Learning Journey programme, especially during these exciting holidays!
I like how you explain why you would be terrified to travel by a waka to New Zealand. I too would be terrified of sharks! There's not a lot between you and a shark in a waka, even though it would be made of strong and dense wood.
If I was voyaging across to New Zealand using a waka, I would have felt really excited and incredibly nervous all in one. What an adventure! Imagine only using stars as a way to navigate your way across too, no need for GPS or Google Maps! I would have felt as though I really achieved something great in life.
I'm curious, what question did your friend Ava ask you?
Keep up the great work ☺

Hi Jordan
DeleteThanks for posting the comment. My friend Ava asked me if people came to new zealand on the waka and I said "Yes".

Kia Ora Isla,
ReplyDeleteGreat to see another brilliant post on your Summer Learning Journey. I would be terrified travelling all that way on a boat too! Would you take any family with you on this long voyage?
How would you feel about moving to another country? I moved homes when I was younger. It was very difficult at first but I got to meet lots of new people.
Can’t wait to hear more about your Waka Journey.
Keep up the great blogging!
